Born and raised in California, Bryant Smith cut his teeth on the legendary waters of Clear Lake. It was there, among the tule reeds and massive swimbaits, that he forged the instincts and resilience required to compete at the highest level of professional bass fishing.

Bryant didn't take the easy route. He is a working-class angler who clawed his way up through regional trails, securing early wins on the FLW and Wild West Bass Trail circuits. Those victories weren't just trophies—they were stepping stones, funding the dream and sharpening his competitive edge against some of the toughest fields in the West.

The breakthrough came in 2022. After a grueling season and a pivotal 2nd-place finish at Lake Hartwell in the Bassmaster Opens, Bryant officially stamped his ticket to the Bassmaster Elite Series.

He didn't just show up to participate. In his rookie Elite season, he proved he belonged by qualifying for his first Bassmaster Classic. Today, he is a 2x Bassmaster Classic Qualifier and a winner of the prestigious WON Bass U.S. Open. His reputation for versatility is perhaps best highlighted by his record-holding 5-fish all-smallmouth limit—a feat that cemented his name in the record books.

Now competing on the BAM Super 60 tour alongside the Elites, Bryant remains true to his roots. Based in Roseville, CA, he balances the grueling travel schedule of a touring pro with his roles as a husband and father. When he's not on the tournament trail, you can find him guiding clients on his home waters or indulging his other passion: cooking wild game through his lifestyle brand, One Hungry Angler.
